Marina Update

4/24/2020

Markley Marine boaters, are able to enter the marina, to prepare their boats for launch.
Please be sure to follow the guidelines that have been provided.
The MBIA sent us this update.

We are pleased to announce that Governor Whitmer in her April 24, 2020
EO No. 2020-59 is allowing for boating to resume in Michigan under
strict safety guidelines and social distancing, starting immediately.

We cannot emphasis enough how important it is for all businesses to
focus on both the public’s and employee’s safety by adhering to the
CDC requirements along with additional steps to assure we can remain in
operation.

We understand that the Executive Order allows for preparation, delivery,
launching or curbside pickup of boats in storage or boats ordered online
or remotely, provided the business and employees adhere to the enhanced
social distancing guidelines. It also allows for the retail sale of
non-essential items such as parts and gear if done with no customer
contact and curbside pickup.

Our recommendation is to continue to work with limited staff onsite.
Keep remote work in place wherever you can. Assure those on site have
PPE, are able to social distance and ramp up cleaning of commonly
touched surfaces.

Areas that must remain closed are areas where people can gather such as
pools, clubhouses, restaurants, bars, etc. Indoor show rooms must remain
closed to in person traffic.

We understand that areas which can remain open include parking lots,
customer docks, gas docks and other outdoor areas, but all should
require social distancing and PPE.

We must all communicate with boaters to remind them they play an
important part in keeping themselves, your staff and other boaters safe,
and to assure we don't lose the opportunity to boat again. Restrictions
remain in place where they can only boat with people from the same
household, and businesses can require they wear PPE while on your
property.

Section 15. Effective on April 26, 2020 at 11:59 pm:
(a) Any individual able to medically tolerate a face covering must wear
a covering over his or her nose and mouth—such as a homemade mask,
scarf, bandana, or handkerchief—when in any enclosed public space.

(b) All businesses and operations whose workers perform in-person work
must, at a minimum, provide non-medical grade face coverings to their
workers.

(c) Supplies of N95 masks and surgical masks should generally be
reserved, for now, for health care professionals, first responders
(e.g., police officers, fire fighters, paramedics), and other critical
workers who interact with the public.

(d) The protections against discrimination in the Elliott-Larsen Civil
Rights Act, 1976 PA 453, as amended, MCL 37.2101 et seq., and any other
protections against discrimination in Michigan law, apply in full force
to persons who wear a mask under this order.
